Cool Cupcake Costume Immersion
Are You Ready to Immerse?
Hey, I'm Shane—photographer, experience designer, and creator of something wonderfully weird.
Cool Cupcake Costume Immersion isn't just a photoshoot—it's a deliberate juxtaposition of contradictory sensations that jolts you out of the everyday. Imaginethe shock of cold water against your skin, the playful anonymity of wearing a mask, and the childlike joy of biting into a sweet cupcake—all while I capture these moments of beautiful contradiction.
This project emerged from my fascination with how humans experience contrasts—how discomfort and pleasure can juxtapose to create something transcendent. It's part performance art, part portrait session, and entirely unlike anything you've experienced.
I'll be in the water with you every moment, guiding the experience and documenting your journey through this sensory landscape. The resulting images often surprise even the participants—revealing expressions and emotions they didn't know were possible.
Everyone who's taken the plunge has discovered something unexpected about themselves in these sessions. The vulnerability creates authenticity that's impossible to fake.
Ready to dive into the beautiful strangeness? Book your session and let's create something surreal together. 🧁

About Me
I'm Shane—fine art photographer, conceptual artist, and the mind behind Cool Cupcake Costume Immersion. 🧁
My work lives in the space between comfort and disruption, beauty and unease. Through Cool Cupcake, I've created a photography experience that's as much about the sensory journey as it is about the resulting images—complete with unexpected laughter, surprising vulnerability, and the undeniable confidence boost that comes from seeing yourself through a different lens.
Beyond this immersive project, my broader photographic work explores dreamy narratives with dystopian undercurrents. I'm heavily influenced by the atmospheric tension of horror cinema, the emotional soundscapes of bands like Thursday and Slowdive, and the striking visual juxtapositions found in Enki Bilal's art. These influences collide in my creative process, informing how I frame the world.
When I'm not behind the camera, I'm in perpetual motion—committed to physical training, nourishing my body, expanding my mind through reading, experiencing live music, and wandering solo through new countries with headphones as my soundtrack.

A Bit More...
Why?
Not simply to capture surreal images, but to orchestrate moments of beautiful disruption. Yes, it's exhilarating for me—but what truly electrifies me is witnessing your transformation. That instant when the cold water shocks your system, when the mask grants you permission to become someone else entirely, when sweetness meets discomfort and creates something transcendent.
When you see the photos, you're not just seeing yourself—you're seeing a version of you that exists beyond social constraints. It's that flash of recognition in your eyes when you realize: "I didn't know I could look like that." This dance between vulnerability and power, discomfort and joy—that's where the magic happens. And I live for that magic.
How?
This beautiful strangeness began five years ago through serendipity—helping a friend with her bakery business led to an impromptu water photoshoot with cupcakes. The seeds were planted, but the concept needed time to germinate.
Years later, the idea resurfaced and suddenly crystallized into something beyond conventional portraiture. In the disorienting space between comfort and challenge, I discovered an unexpected creative sanctuary. The cold water, the sweet taste, the anonymous freedom of masks—each element carefully calibrated to create a sensory contradiction.
Soon I began inviting others into this world of beautiful contradiction. The transformations I witnessed were immediate and profound—people stepping into the water as themselves and emerging as something more expansive. In that moment, Cool Cupcake Costume Immersion was born—not just as a photography concept, but as a portal to another way of experiencing yourself.
Join me in this unique confluence of discomfort and delight.
My History
I've inhabited the world through a lens for over seven years—initially capturing street scenes, urban environments, and natural landscapes that spoke to me.
But my creative journey began long before photography found me:
- Playing instruments that taught me about rhythm and emotion
- Performing in bands where I learned the power of collective energy
- Creating experimental films in college that explored visual storytelling
- Expressing myself through drawing, painting and writing
My soul has always craved creative outlets. As a teenager, I threw myself into talent shows—writing scripts, acting in sketches, and eventually forming a fake band at 14 where I channeled my inner lip-sync performer. I even took on Whitesnake's "Still of The Night," only to be booed offstage—twice! But I was a committed lip-syncer, regardless of the world's readiness for my performance.
High school saw me behind the drum kit in a punk band called "Stronghold." One show, one breakup, countless bruises—and zero regrets.
Each creative incarnation has led me here, to a place of profound fulfillment through photography. The camera speaks my language, inspiring endless possibilities and boundless creative freedom.
I have countless more stories—but those are better shared in person, in the water, with a cupcake between us.
Until then...
